About the course
UCplus offers flexible course schedules so you can train during the day or in the evening, depending on your availability:
- Daytime training: Monday to Friday, 08:00–15:24
Courses are offered in:
- Højbjerg, near Aarhus (Denmark’s second-largest city)
This course is available in English, and all instruction, materials, and exams are provided in English.
Please note: a basic understanding of Danish rules and road signage is still helpful, but not required.
If you live in Denmark and hold a valid residence permit and CPR number, you may be eligible for the course.
The cost depends on your employment status and education level:
Unemployed (registered with a job centre or A-kasse): Free of charge – must be approved in advance by your local jobcenter or A-kasse (unemployment insurance fund)
Employed or self-supporting – part of the AMU target group*: DKK 6,420
Employed or self-supporting – not in the AMU target group*: DKK 41,263.35
Test fee: DKK 1,450 (covers theory and practical driving test)
You should also expect to pay a fee for the medical certificate, which will be between 600-1000 DKK
Note on AMU eligibility:
AMU stands for Arbejdsmarkedsuddannelser (Labour Market Training).
If you have a higher education degree (beyond level 4), you are not eligible for the AMU subsidy and must pay the full course price.
If you are over 21: the full-time course takes 30 days (6 weeks)
After completing your lessons, you will take a theory test followed by a practical driving test.
Please note: there may be a short waiting period before your driving test date.
To sign up for the truck licence course, you must:
- Hold a Category B licence (car licence)
- Be at least 21 years old
- Live in Denmark with a valid CPR number
- Be able to follow lessons and complete tests in English
The truck licence is also called a Category C licence in Denmark.
As a professional driver, your main role is to transport goods from one location to another. This might include:
- Delivering food and supplies to supermarkets
- Collecting household waste
- Transporting construction materials to building sites
In addition to driving, the job often involves meeting customers and providing friendly, reliable service.
